‘Uniform’ is the new single from TVOD, a Brooklyn-based sextet known for their fierce post-punk sound. It’s a dystopian track defined by the insistence of its jagged, down-picked guitars, menacing bass fuzz and the swirling of retro synths. Its minimalistic verses are juxtaposed by huge choruses that see Tyler Wright’s half-sung voice become a melodic shout. The band describe the self-directed video that accompanies ‘Uniform’, as “a Nineteen Eighty-Four work-related injury release form that someone forgot to file”.
